The lives of past winners, who won scholarships to study at Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, will be shown on VTV3 program "On the Way to Olympia Peak 10 Year Anniversary Gala" on Sunday 23 May.

Representatives from Swinburne will be attending the gala, which will bring finalists from the past 10 years currently living in Vietnam together in Hanoi. 2009 Way to Olympia Peak winner Ho Ngoc Han, who will begin his studies at Swinburne in August, will also be in attendance.

“The Way to Olympia Peak competition is very prestigious and Swinburne supports its celebration of academically gifted Vietnamese students,” said Swinburne Pro Vice-Chancellor Jeffrey Smart.

“The Olympia champions are excellent ambassadors for Vietnam. They have taught our Australian students something about the culture of Vietnam and have set up Vietnamese associations at Swinburne, and across the other Victorian universities. The students are also achieving great results in the classroom and progressing strongly through their studies, some to PhD level. My colleagues and I at Swinburne are all immensely impressed with their intelligence and outstanding academic performance,” he added.

Swinburne has had an active presence in Vietnam since 1993. Since then, it has developed partnerships with a number of Vietnamese institutions including HCM City Open University, HCM City University of Architecture and the National Economics University.

The Way to Olympia Peak 10 Year Anniversary Gala will be broadcast at 8.00pm on Sunday 23 May on VTV3.
