The exhibition will be held in HCM City on May 15 at the Legend Hotel Saigon, and Hanoi the next day at the Melia Hanoi Hotel.

The Australian Consulate General in the city said representatives from more than 30 Australian high schools will be participating in the exhibition, providing information about their education programs, curriculum and education pathways, as well as practical advice about the benefits of living and studying in Australia.

Australian Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Mr. Tony Burchill, underlined the importance of the exhibition in promoting Australian schools to Vietnam.

“Australia is a popular destination for Vietnamese students who value its world class education system, reputable institutions and excellent studying and living environment. Strong growth continues across all levels of education with almost 24,000 enrolments in Australia in 2009 and a 20 per cent growth in secondary education enrolments between 2008 and 2009”.

“The Australian Schools Open Day is a key event for raising awareness of the Australian school system in Vietnam.”

He added, “It enables students and their families to meet and talk directly with representatives from a wide range of institutions to gain an understanding of the programs that are available and the studying and living environments they offer, factors that are critical to the decisions that families make about their children’s future education.”
