1. Universal Studios, Singapore
This just-completed in February destination is Singapore's first theme park in real meaning. It is expected to receive 0.46 million locals and 0.97 million tourists every year.
The whole park includes rides and shows based on television programs and movies like Battlestar Galactica, Shrek, Madagascar, Jurassic Park and The Mummy.
2. Everland, South Korea
It is reported that one out of every six Koreans (about 0.82 million people) visited Everland in 2006. This is a comprehensive amusement park which includes a zoo and a water park and operated by a subsidiary of Samsung Group.
It possesses the largest roller coaster in the country. In spring, there will be flower exhibition, while a sledding hill in the winter.
3. Ocean Park, Hong Kong
Located on the south side of Hong Kong Island, the Ocean Park possesses four giant pandas, an aquarium, a roller coaster with a top speed of 48 miles per hour and an array of haunted houses during Halloween.
It is quiet popular to tourists from Chinese mainland and kids from Hong Kong.
4. Happy Valley, China
Shenzhen’s Happy Valley, the most popular brand of theme park in China, opened in 1998. It is comprised of a Mayan water park, a Spanish fiesta, a gold mine and a forest.
In 2008 it saw 25 million visitors.
5. Sea World Gold Coast, Queensland of Australia
About 30 bottlenose dolphins, Australia's only polar bears live in this park. Tourists can view sharks through a glass-bottomed boat and there’s a Sesame Street area for younger visitors.
This amazing park sits next to Warner Bros. Movie World, so it is also a theme park.
6. Sunway Lagoon, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia
This Malaysian largest park lies in the west of Kuala Lumpur, capital of the country. Its newest offerings include surfing lessons, a go-kart track and a "scream" area meant to frighten visitors.
Like many of Asia's theme parks, it has a hotel and shopping mall nearby.
7. Essel World, Mumbai, India
Located on an isle with lush forest off the western coast of India, this amusement park possesses all sort of rare birds and plants. Tourists can reach the isle by ferry. It owns a mix of roller coasters and family-friendly attractions, with plenty of water rides and a blowing alley.
8. Disneyland, Tokyo, Japan
With as many as 26 million visitors annually, Tokyo Disneyland is considered as the king of theme park in Asia. Tourists can access here by train from the center of city.
You can have fun with staffs who dress as characters from Disney cartoons, such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
9. Dunia Fantasi, Jakarta, Indonesia
The park lies in the most densely populated area. This year, management plans to add an elephant parade, a free-fall ride.
10. Lac Canh Dai Nam Van Hien, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The park includes a golden temple, a water park, a zoo and the biggest man-made mountain in Vietnam. And the ticket only costs you two U.S. dollars.
11. Siam Park City, Bangkok, Thailand
The Siam Park City is transformed from the rice field. Except for roller coasters, a spa with authentic Thai masseurs and a jungle safari boat ride, the park also has a tower offering a panoramic view of Bangkok. In 2009, the Guinness World Records certified the park as having the largest wave pool in the world.
12. Janfusun Fancyworld, Taiwan, China
This Taiwan's biggest amusement park owns Asia's only floorless roller coaster and the highest Ferris wheel in Taiwan. It also has museums which offer tea and coffee and a venue for karaoke.
