Hanoi to Host International Children’s Drama Festival

The festival will take place at the Youth Theatre and Hanoi Children’s Cultural Palace and will attract 40 international and 100 Vietnamese artists.

Four foreign dramas will be presented, named: “Grandparent’s Dreams” from Laos’ Kabong Puppetry Theatre, “Dream, Dream, Don’t Dream!” by Japan’s Nakama Drama Theatre, “Run, Run, Run” by South Korean Masil Theatre, and “Grandfather and the Dreamlike Harmonica” by Sweden’s Pantomimteatern Theatre.

The host will contribute the following dramas: “Why the Serpent Transforms into Dragon” by HCM City Drama Theatre, “Lady Hen” by Thang Long Puppetry Theatre, “Puppetry Festival” by Vietnam Puppetry Theatre and “Children’s House” variety show by Youth Theatre.

 

“Why the Serpent Transforms into Dragon” is arranged under a project funded by the International Drama Association and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

The festival’s opening ceremony will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on May 24.
